Through engaging, hands-on materials and imaginative exploration, children build academic foundations without even realizing it. Guided by our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, teachers help children explore their interests and curiosities through project-based studies—recent subjects have included firefighters, south africa, and babies.
Our Investigations Room and Outdoor Classroom are spaces where sensory exploration, scientific thinking, small-world play, and dramatic storytelling intertwine. Children are viewed as capable, curious, and full of potential, expressing their ideas through many languages. Thoughtfully designed invitations nurture inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and meaningful dialogue.
Temple Sinai Nursery School welcomes all families and our community is strengthened by diversity. Our program is guided by Jewish values, like kindness, and we celebrate the weekly Jewish holiday of Shabbat each Friday with singing, dancing, and Challah (a traditional and delicious Jewish bread—we also offer a challah subscription to our families!).
Tzedakah—acts of generosity and care—is woven into the fabric of our school. Throughout the year, even our youngest learners engage in age-appropriate opportunities to help others. Recent Tzedakah projects have included a spice drive for a local food bank, collecting items for hurricane relief in Jamaica, and a diaper drive. Additionally, TSNS has an ongoing partnership with Briya Public Charter School where we have supported healthy snacks for their toddler classroom, new books for their library, and art bags for every student.
In our Movement Gym, children jump, climb, dance, crash into soft mats, and sing their way toward confidence and coordination. Our on-staff Occupational Therapist teaches in this space, and also partners with teachers to support whole-class activities that build fine-motor, gross-motor, and sensory skills.
Children learn how to use their bodies by taking risks and experiencing different ways to move—grasp, run, climb, pedal, dig, draw, jump, and more. Our playground features a sand box, a huge slide, wheeled vehicles, chalk, and a climbing structure. Surrounded by tall trees, children are immersed in nature, shade, light and the changing seasons.
Our beautiful campus features light-filled classrooms and thoughtfully arranged learning areas, where every space is designed to feel safe, inspiring, and full of possibility.
There’s a role for every parent at TSNS—whether that’s event planning, attending our Monthly Family Shabbat Sings, supporting classroom needs, or participating in parent education opportunities. Our Parents’ Association coordinates events throughout the year, from the Family Pumpkin Patch Trip to the Sinai Social, an annual fundraising event to celebrate TSNS.
TSNS teachers are highly-trained, many with advanced degrees in early childhood fields, including art education and occupational therapy. We’re also the rare preschool that has an Occupational Therapist on staff. Our faculty are lifelong learners and frequently engage in professional development opportunities.
TSNS graduates go on to a wide variety of public and independent schools. Our director directly engages with the admissions departments from many independent schools and hosts parents for informational sessions with them at TSNS.
