At Temple Sinai Nursery School, children learn through play, relationships, exploration, and discovery. Our Reggio Emilia-inspired, play-based approach recognizes children as capable, curious learners and teachers as thoughtful observers, collaborators, and facilitators of learning.
Our curriculum is responsive to the children in each classroom. Teachers observe children closely, listen to their questions and ideas, and create environments and experiences that encourage children to investigate their interests, build relationships, develop new skills, and make meaning of the world around them. While there is no predetermined curriculum map for the year, our teachers intentionally support children’s development across all areas of learning, including language and literacy, social-emotional development, cognitive development, physical development, creative expression, and growing independence.
Jewish life is woven throughout our programs and daily experiences. Children and families are welcomed into a community grounded in Jewish values, traditions, and celebrations, with opportunities to experience Shabbat, Jewish holidays, Hebrew songs and blessings, and the values of kindness, community, and caring for one another and the world around us.
